Choosing The Right 3 Ton Trolley Jack

Car jacks come in several different weight lifting capacities so it is important to find a jack that is capable of lifting your specific model of car.  Jacks come in options that are capable of lifting weights that range from one and a half tons to 3 tons. The 3 ton trolley jack is designed specifically for heavy load bearing. Even though 3 ton trolley jacks are intended to lift cars up off the ground for repair, you might also see them being used in commercial and construction settings as well. The low entry frame of the trolley model of jack is created for use under cars whose chassis are very low to the ground. This would be a good jack for a race or sports car because it will easily fit beneath the frame for lifting purposes.

When browsing for a 3 ton trolley jack for sale, you will see some styles that have an extended or long arm. This is where the rod or T handle device is created to be longer than the standard issued design for use with some agricultural equipment. The extended bar allows the user to have a longer reach when using the pump action to raise large objects. Another variation is the long chassis style. This type of jack has an extended frame base so it can fit underneath a wide frame object which might require a longer reach in order to reach the lift zone of the vehicle frame.

The various 3 ton jacks for sale today will cost differently depending on size, style, and manufacturer. A low entry style or model could retail for around $135 while a long chassis type is only $60. If you plan to use a jack for farm equipment, you may need to get a higher weight capacity unit then the 3 ton trolley jack. Larger jacks will be found in weight capabilities of 5, 7, 10 and even 15 tons. Such jacks also come with similar features such as the extended reach or short base. Most of these models will cost well over $200 each so you may want to check for a warranty before buying or look for one that is used if your budget is tight.
