Deals On Vehicles At Police Car Auctions
For the last three or four years, consumer confidence has repeatedly been hitting all time lows because of the recession. It seems that most people believe that a financial crisis is not a good time to be making large purchases. However, most financial experts will tell you the exact opposite – that there is no better time to be making these kinds of purchases than during the peak years of a recession.
The reason many experts say this, of course, is because of the number of deals and bargains that are flying around during recessions.
Basically, a large portion of the population tends to run into liquidity issues during a financial crisis, and so they try to sell their assets in order to trade them for liquid cash. As a result, there are more sellers than there are buyers, and so prices tend to drop. This is particularly true in the car market, as we have seen over the last couple of years. Any repo depot owner will tell you that they have done a roaring trade in selling repossessed cars, usually at prices that are only a fraction of what the car is actually worth. In other words, people who have been purchasing repo vehicles have been taking advantage of huge savings opportunities.
There are also a lot of other non traditional sales distribution networks for automobiles that have gained stature in the last few years of the recession. In particular, police car auctions have become quite popular. Not many people feel comfortable with the idea of purchasing a police vehicle, but the fact is that police cars are often much better maintained than civilian used cars with comparable usage. They are also generally retired long before the car’s effective life. In particular, detective cars represent a very good bargain for a high quality car, because they have seen minimal rough use. Remember never to purchase any kind of repo car without examining it first, though – you don’t want to run into maintenance expenses later.
