After you have prepared everything, next thing to do is find a sturdy anchor point. You can attach the cable to the trunk of a big tree, another automotive vehicle, or a large and stable rock. As much as possible, choose an anchor point that is directly in line with your vehicle to allow the cable to wrap in a straight direction. You should spool out a longer line so that your winch will be capable of handling a greater load. When using another vehicle to winch out your ride, make sure to block the wheels of the recovery vehicle, put it in neutral, and engage the hand brake before you start to winch out.
