Trailer Jack: A Must Have Trailer Necessity
Trailers are used due to its wide classification of outdoor activities such as towing boats, or campers that dwell in the comforts of their pop up trailers. A trailer jack is one of the essential requirements that allow you to change a flat tire by yourself in just a few minutes! How do you change a trailer tire?
- First is to park the trailer and the car on a solid ground. It is important to secure the vehicle and the wheels of the trailer. If need be, you can disengage the trailer for a while to make it easier for you.
- Loosen the lug nuts on the flat trailer tire with the use of a lug wrench but do not remove all together just yet.
- Place the trailer jack beneath the axle of the trailer if there is still space for the jack. If not, it can go underneath the frame of just behind the axle but allow it to be placed as close to the axle as much as possible. Pull and push on the jack until the vehicle is raised and the wheel does not touch the ground anymore.
- You can now remove the lug nuts all the way along with the flat wheel of the trailer.
- Using your spare trailer tire or maybe the tire that is repaired, place it on the hub and reinstall the lug nuts. Secure the lug nuts as hard as you can with the use of a lug wrench.
- Lower the vehicle and the trailer back on the ground. Remove the jack.
